We provide a dedicated number to the surgery. Calls are then transfered to this number when our service is required. Times are agreed in advance. When a call is received requiring the duty vet, we then contact that vet by an agreed protocol.

Our staff are trained to take as much information as is necessary to deal with the call as efficiently as possible. They will not give any veterinary advice. If someone should ask the opening times or the address etc. we will provide them with this information - provided it has been supplied to us.

Lone Worker Service

We offer 3 Lone Worker Monitoring Services:-

• Basic Lone Worker Monitoring. - The LW calls KMHS on their dedicated number giving us details of their whereabouts and the duration of their monitoring requirement. Our specially written computer program alerts us if then LW has not logged off at the specified time. We then act on agreed protocol if this does not occur.
• Office Based Lone Worker. The LW carries a remote panic button which when activated alerts KMHS staff of a problem who then act on a agreed protocol.
• GSM or GPS Personal Location Device. The LW carries a device which when activated alerts KMHS of a problem. KMHS staff will then act upon our protocol.

Overflow Service

This will give you the abilty to allow us to receive any calls that you may otherwise have missed.

If you are a small practice and find yourselves out of the surgery you can divert your customers through to us during the day where we can handle your calls either as emergencies or general enquiries. We can then pass on any information via mobiles, pagers, emails or faxes.

You may be a large practice that has busy periods during the day where you may not be able to answer every call coming in. Again we can be used as an overlflow for your surgery - the caller will come through to us where we will deal with the call appropriately.
